MARK IS ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
Hello, I'm Mark Wang, a dedicated mental health counselor with a LGPC. I graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling.
My passion lies in guiding individuals toward a valued life, reducing psychological distress, and enhancing long-term satisfaction through an empathic and strength-based approach.
Rather than viewing your distress as a danger or pain to avoid, we will see it as a compass guiding you toward the life you desire and deserve.
The goal is to improve your psychological flexibility, enabling you to adaptively choose effective cognitive-behavioral responses across various contexts and situations, fostering meaningful connections with yourself and others.
How do you describe yourself as a therapist?
In my counseling practice, I utilize evidence-based therapies including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT).
My core philosophy centers around the concept of "in-sight" — bringing new perceptions about yourself, others, and the world into your sight.
By examining your life from different perspectives, you'll encounter deeper emotional experiences and enriched self-understanding. This clarity will reveal what you truly value and desire.
What’s your approach when working with adults?
I incorporate person-centered principles in therapy by showing unconditional positive regard, empathy, and genuineness. Encourage clients to take an active role, avoid imposing solutions, focus on the present, and support personal growth and self-actualization. I enjoy working with clients motivated to develop unexpected and empowering insights about themselves and their lives.
If you're open to an outside-the-box experience, this might be the right place for you.
As your therapist, you will not be seen as a problem to fix. Instead, you will be viewed as a holistic individual to be understood, appreciated, and inspired. Together, we will embark on a journey toward wellness, where your distress becomes a pathway to the life you desire and are worthy of living.
