EMDR Services

What You Can Expect

EMDR is a unique approach to therapy as it helps the brain process and rewires traumatic memories and experiences and reinforces positive beliefs to replace negative ones. It uses certain stimuli, like eye movements, to help your brain reprocess certain memories or experiences.

Preparation
We will gather all significant information about you such as your past and current issues, specific traumas, and memories to target.

Desensitization
We will focus on one specific traumatic memory while simultaneously engaging in bilateral stimulation, like your eye movement.

Processing
As you focus on one single memory and experience bilateral stimulation, the brain will reprocess the memory allowing for new insights, emotions, or positive associations.

Reevaluation
We will check for any shifts or changes in your thoughts, responses, and emotions in connection to that specific memory.

Follow Up
We will then process additional targets or memories as needed, making sure that you are feeling safe and stable.
